Frequently Asked

Hair, Skin & Nails Support — FAQs

How long until I see results?
Hair, skin and nails grow slowly — visible results typically take 6–12 weeks of regular treatment. Most patients notice nail strength first (4–6 weeks), then skin texture (6–8 weeks), then hair (12+ weeks).
Will the biotin injection hurt?
Biotin IM injections can feel slightly uncomfortable — more so than other IM shots. The discomfort is brief (a few seconds) and patients describe it as a stinging or pressure sensation. We use the smallest needle possible.
How often should I have this drip?
For best results, every 2–3 weeks for the first 3 months, then maintenance every 4–6 weeks. Course length depends on your individual concerns and response.
Can this drip treat alopecia or significant hair loss?
Hair, Skin & Nails IV supports overall hair health and may help with mild thinning or shedding, but it's not a treatment for medical hair loss conditions like alopecia areata or androgenic alopecia. We recommend a Vitamin / Iron / Thyroid panel first to identify any underlying cause.
Should I have blood tests first?
If you're experiencing significant hair loss or nail changes, we strongly recommend blood testing first. Many beauty-related concerns have an underlying cause (low ferritin, B12, vitamin D, or thyroid issues) — and treating the cause is more effective than treating symptoms alone.
Can I take biotin supplements alongside this drip?
Yes, oral biotin supplements complement the IV protocol. However, if you're due to have blood tests soon, please mention biotin use — it can interfere with some thyroid and other laboratory tests.
Are there any side effects?
Most patients have no side effects. Some may notice mild discomfort at the biotin IM site. Biotin can interfere with certain blood tests if you have them shortly after.
Is it safe if I'm pregnant?
We do not recommend elective IV nutrient therapy during pregnancy. If you are pregnant, breastfeeding or trying to conceive, please note this on the suitability form.
