Gut Microbiome
A detailed profile of the bacteria, fungi, archaea, viruses and parasites in your gut, from a stool sample you collect at home — including beneficial bacteria and potentially harmful organisms.
Everything you need to know about Gut Microbiome
Your gut is home to trillions of microorganisms that help digest food, make vitamins and short-chain fatty acids, train your immune system and keep harmful organisms in check. The balance of that community varies from person to person and is shaped by diet, medicines, stress and illness.
This test analyses a small stool sample to profile the bacteria, archaea, fungi, viruses and parasites present — including bacteria with probiotic properties, those that produce butyrate (an important fuel for the gut lining), oxalate-degrading and hydrogen-sulphide-producing bacteria, and potentially pathogenic organisms. It is a tool for understanding your gut and guiding changes to diet and lifestyle, not a test for diagnosing a bowel condition.
