About this test

Everything you need to know about Lifestyle and Nutrition DNA Test

Two people can follow the same training plan and the same diet and get very different results. Part of the reason sits in the genes that govern muscle composition, injury risk, how quickly you recover, how you handle caffeine, saturated fats and fasting, and which vitamins and minerals you are more likely to run short of.

This test analyses those variants and groups them into three themes — athletic performance, diet and nutrition, and health and wellbeing — with a plain-English note on what each result means for you. It is a tool for personalising your routine, not a medical diagnosis, and our team is happy to help you turn the report into practical changes.

Who it's for

Worth considering if

  • Men training towards a goal who want to tailor nutrition and recovery
  • Anyone who has struggled with weight despite “doing the right things”
  • Finding out whether you are genetically prone to low vitamin D, B12, iron or magnesium
  • Understanding caffeine tolerance, sleep and stress responses
Important: A genetic test describes inherited likelihood, not certainty, and is not suitable for everyone. Our clinical team talks it through with you before the sample is taken and explains the result afterwards, including when a conversation with your GP or a genetics service is the right next step.

Frequently Asked

Lifestyle and Nutrition DNA Test — FAQs

Does this tell me what to eat?
It tells you how your body is likely to respond — for example a higher tendency to vitamin D deficiency or a slower caffeine metabolism — so that diet and training choices can be made with that in mind. Our team can help translate the report into a practical plan.
Is it the same as the genetic risk tests?
No. Those look at specific gene changes linked to disease. This test looks at common variants that influence everyday traits such as nutrient absorption and recovery. It includes a few health tendencies (such as type 2 diabetes and high cholesterol risk), but it is not a diagnostic test.
Will my DNA be stored?
The laboratory analyses the sample for the markers in this test and handles it under UK data-protection law. Ask us at your appointment if you would like the details of the laboratory’s retention policy.
Do I need to stop training or change my diet before the test?
No. Your DNA does not change with what you did last week, so there is no preparation.
How long do results take?
DNA analysis takes longer than a standard blood panel. We tell you the expected turnaround at your appointment and send the report with an explanation once it is back.
Where is the test done?
44 Crawford Street, London W1H 1JS — a short walk from Marylebone and Edgware Road stations. Your sample is taken at the clinic by our clinical team; you do not need to bring anything.
How long does the appointment take?
About 15 minutes. If you have booked several tests they are all done in the same visit.
Can I book several tests at once?
Yes. Use “Add to booking” on each test and then “Book” in the bar at the bottom — they go into one appointment and one payment. Home test kits are ordered separately, because they are posted to you.
How do I pay, and can I cancel?
Pay online when you book — by card or bank transfer — or at the clinic where that option is offered. You can cancel or reschedule up to 24 hours before your appointment for a full refund.
How do I get my results?
Results are released to your secure account and explained by our clinical team in a written summary, with a call where something needs talking through. Turnaround depends on the test: routine blood panels are quicker than genetic or DNA analysis, and we tell you what to expect at your appointment.
