Clinic test
Extended Cancer Risk
Our broadest hereditary cancer panel — a wide set of genes associated with inherited risk of prostate, bowel, pancreatic, kidney, skin, endocrine and other cancers, including the BRCA and Lynch syndrome genes.
Everything you need to know about Extended Cancer Risk
Where a family history includes several different cancers, or a cancer that does not fit a single pattern, a single-cancer gene test can miss the explanation. The Extended Cancer Risk panel looks across a broad range of genes linked to hereditary cancer syndromes at once — including the BRCA genes, the Lynch syndrome genes, APC and MUTYH, TP53, PALB2, CHEK2 and ATM, and genes associated with endocrine, kidney and skin cancer syndromes.
A genetic test looks at the DNA you were born with. It tells you about inherited likelihood, not certainty: a variant can raise your risk without meaning you will develop the condition, and a clear result does not remove the everyday risk everyone carries. Results are explained to you by our clinical team, and we will say when a conversation with your GP or a genetics service is the right next step. Because the findings can affect relatives as well as you, every result from this panel is discussed with you in detail, and we support you in deciding what to share and how.
What's included
The full panel contents are confirmed with you before the test. Call 020 3621 0294 if you would like the list in advance.
