About this test

Everything you need to know about Food Sensitivity Test

Many people notice that certain foods leave them bloated, tired or uncomfortable without any clear pattern. This test measures the IgG antibodies your immune system has produced against over 200 foods — dairy and eggs, fish and seafood, fruit, grains, herbs and spices, meat, nuts and seeds, vegetables and a group of miscellaneous items such as tea, coffee and yeast.

The report ranks each food by how strongly your body has reacted, so you have a starting point for an elimination-and-reintroduction plan rather than guesswork. It is not an allergy test: a true food allergy involves a different antibody (IgE) and needs separate assessment. Our clinical team walks you through the results and how to use them sensibly.

Who it's for

Worth considering if

  • Recurring bloating, discomfort or changes in bowel habit after meals
  • Low energy, headaches or skin flare-ups you suspect are linked to food
  • Anyone planning an elimination diet who wants to start with data
  • People who have already ruled out coeliac disease and lactose intolerance
Important: A blood test is not a diagnosis on its own. Where something needs looking at, we tell you what it means and what to do next. If you are unwell now, please see your GP or call 111 rather than waiting for a test.

Frequently Asked

Food Sensitivity Test — FAQs

Is this an allergy test?
No. Food allergy is driven by IgE antibodies and can cause immediate, sometimes serious, reactions — that needs proper allergy assessment. This test measures IgG, which is linked to slower, delayed responses such as bloating and discomfort. If you have ever had swelling, breathing difficulty or hives after eating, tell us at your appointment.
How many foods are tested?
More than 200, across dairy and eggs, fish and seafood, fruit, grains, herbs and spices, meat, nuts and seeds, vegetables and a miscellaneous group.
Should I cut out every food that shows a reaction?
No — that is the quickest way to an unbalanced diet. The usual approach is to remove the strongest reactors for a few weeks, see how you feel, then reintroduce them one at a time. Our team explains how to do this safely with your report.
Do I need to fast?
No. Eat and drink normally; a varied diet in the weeks before the test actually makes the result more useful.
Can I have this if I already avoid some foods?
Yes, but a food you have not eaten for a long time may show a low reaction simply because your body has not been exposed to it recently. Mention any long-term exclusions at your appointment.
Where is the test done?
44 Crawford Street, London W1H 1JS — a short walk from Marylebone and Edgware Road stations. Your sample is taken at the clinic by our clinical team; you do not need to bring anything.
How long does the appointment take?
About 15 minutes. If you have booked several tests they are all done in the same visit.
Can I book several tests at once?
Yes. Use “Add to booking” on each test and then “Book” in the bar at the bottom — they go into one appointment and one payment. Home test kits are ordered separately, because they are posted to you.
How do I pay, and can I cancel?
Pay online when you book — by card or bank transfer — or at the clinic where that option is offered. You can cancel or reschedule up to 24 hours before your appointment for a full refund.
How do I get my results?
Results are released to your secure account and explained by our clinical team in a written summary, with a call where something needs talking through. Turnaround depends on the test: routine blood panels are quicker than genetic or DNA analysis, and we tell you what to expect at your appointment.
